- The park is 5% water, 15% meadow and range, and 80% forest
- There are more geysers and hot springs in Yellowstone than in the rest of the world combined: 10,000 thermal features and over 200 active geysers
- There are approximately 59 species of mammals and 309 species of birds
- Altitude varies from 5300' at the north entrance to 12,000' at Eagle Peak on the east boundary
