Since 1970, I have
spent most every summer in and around Yellowstone National Park. Until
1998, I was a Californian during the rest of the year. Since then I have
made Yellowstone a year-round experience and reside in Bozeman, Montana.
Maintaining a summer home west of the park since 1974, I've spent many a
summer immersed in study of the flora of Yellowstone. My interest in plant
life has led me to many destinations in the area and the study of other
pieces of the ecosystem. I've developed a keen eye for wildlife observation
and have become an avid bird watcher.
As a volunteer with Yellowstone (and Yosemite) natural resource managers
during the summers, I've worked on eradication of non-native plants in the
parks. This experience has added much to my knowledge of the flora and
fauna, as well as put me on miles of trails and I've come to know many of
the people who live and work inside Yellowstone. Away but not far from the
hustle and bustle of park roads and crowds, I can take you to see some of
my favorite haunts and quiet places.
